PhD Opportunity:
Engineering education and practice research to support engineering innovations in agriculture and ecological restoration

PROJECT DESCRIPTION
Local, national, and global societies face serious challenges. Our ability to respond sustainably is contingent on engineering innovation. Engineering practice must evolve and securing engineering capacity will be critical. However, the path to achieve this is unclear. We need to understand how engineering practice, engineering education, and engineering employment must change.
Applications are invited to undertake a PhD project to inform educators, industry, and government in ensuring engineering capability to address society’s sustainability challenges. The research is part of a larger body of work addressing questions about engineering practice, engineering education, and sustainable engineering careers.
A top up scholarship is available specifically for a project focusing on engineering education and practice to support agriculture and ecological restoration sectors. The successful application will be based at UWA’s Centre for Engineering Innovation: Agriculture & Ecological Restoration, jointly supervised by CEI:AgER: Director A/Professor Andrew Guzzomi, AgTech-Theme Lead Dr Wesley Moss, Ecological Restoration Tech Theme Lead Dr Monte Masarei and Professor Sally Male, Director Teaching and Learning Laboratory, Faculty of Engineering and IT, University of Melbourne.
